What the program funds

Projects funded through the Aboriginal Community Initiatives Fund support and address priorities that are identified by the 11 Dhelk Dja Action Groups to address family violence at a local level. The Victorian Government is providing $1.1 million for the 2026-27 Aboriginal Community Initiatives Fund (CIF). This is to support community led projects that educate, prevent, reduce, and respond to family violence in Aboriginal communities across Victoria.

How to apply

Applications for Aboriginal Community Initiatives Fund: 2026–27 funding round are made through Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, not through GrantWindow. We do not take applications, charge a fee or act as an intermediary, and any site that offers to apply on your behalf for a government grant is worth a very careful look.

Applications close in September 2026. Government grant portals are busiest on the final day and several of them close on the stroke of the deadline, so the practical advice is to submit a day early.
