Common questions
- Is GrantWindow free?
- The grant pages, the state and purpose directories and the deadline board are free and stay free. The paid layer, when it opens, is the alerting: being emailed before a deadline instead of having to remember to come back. Deadline alerts launch this week and early signups are on the first send at no charge.
- Do you apply for grants on my behalf?
- No. Every application goes through the funder on their own site and we link straight to it. We never take a fee, a commission or a percentage of a grant, and we are not a grant writing service. Anyone offering to secure you a government grant for an upfront fee is worth a very careful look.
- Where does the data come from?
- Official and primary sources only: GrantConnect, business.gov.au, every state and territory grant portal, and the published grant pages of individual councils and universities. Every entry links back to the exact page it came from and shows the date we last read it.
- Why do some grants have no closing date?
- Because the funder has not published one. Coverage is uneven by source rather than random: the NSW and Victorian portals publish a date on almost everything, while council and university programs often publish none at all. We show the gap honestly rather than filling it with a guess, because a wrong deadline can cost somebody a week of work.
- How often is GrantWindow updated?
- Every night. The sources are re-read after Australian business hours, new programs, changed deadlines and newly closed rounds are detected by comparing against the previous night, and the site rebuilds on the fresh data. Every page shows when it was last checked.
- Can I browse grants by industry?
- Browse by purpose instead: small business growth, community projects, arts and culture, sport and recreation, training and skills, capital works, disaster recovery, environment, health, regional and rural, and research and development. Every purpose pulls Commonwealth, state and council programs into one list with the closing dates attached.
The window is open or it is not. Know which.
Browse free, and let us carry the calendar. GrantWindow reads the official Australian grant sources every night, so the deadline on your screen is the deadline the funder published.
