What the program funds
The Primary Health Networks (PHN) Program General Practice Incentive Fund (GPIF) grant opportunity (the grant opportunity) will enable the design and implementation of health care services in communities where primary care and related service systems: fail are at imminent risk of failure, or are characterised by ongoing instability. The department will identify intervention sites for where the grant opportunity may be targeted. Once a site is identified, the Decision Maker will agree for the relevant PHN to be invited to the grant opportunity.

How to apply
Applications for General Practice Incentive Fund are made through Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, not through GrantWindow. We do not take applications, charge a fee or act as an intermediary, and any site that offers to apply on your behalf for a government grant is worth a very careful look.
Apply for General Practice Incentive Fund on the official site
Applications close in September 2026. Government grant portals are busiest on the final day and several of them close on the stroke of the deadline, so the practical advice is to submit a day early.
