What the program funds

This program provides low-interest loans to eligible drought affected primary producers in SA. The SA Drought Loan Scheme supports drought affected grain and livestock farmers in South Australia’s Murray Mallee, Riverland and Upper North regions, through access to urgent financial assistance through the provision of low-interest loans. The loans are for working capital only and cannot be used to refinance existing debt.

How to apply

Applications for SA Drought Loan Scheme are made through Government of South Australia, not through GrantWindow. We do not take applications, charge a fee or act as an intermediary, and any site that offers to apply on your behalf for a government grant is worth a very careful look.

Apply for SA Drought Loan Scheme on the official site

Applications close in December 2026. Government grant portals are busiest on the final day and several of them close on the stroke of the deadline, so the practical advice is to submit a day early.
