What the program funds
The purpose of the Stock Welfare Panel Program (SWPP) is to improve the Stock Welfare Panel (SWP) process, and to reduce the need for SWPs in the future. The program objectives are: to increase the skills and knowledge of SWP members; to evaluate the benefit and costs of SWPs, and to establish a clear performance measurement framework for the ongoing monitoring and management of SWPs; to increase industry awareness of animal welfare obligations; to improve livestock welfare outcomes.
