What the program funds

The Australia-Germany H2Global Program involves a innovative contract for difference market mechanism, where grant funds provided by the Australian government along with funding from the German government will be used by a successful applicant (if any) to support eligible Australian producers of hydrogen products. The funding will offset the difference between the price paid to purchase hydrogen products from Australian producers and the price received from selling those products to German offtakers.

What it is for

This program is categorised under the following purposes. Each one that has a page of its own links to every other Australian grant we track for the same purpose.

How to apply

Applications for Australia-Germany H2Global Program are made through Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, not through GrantWindow. We do not take applications, charge a fee or act as an intermediary, and any site that offers to apply on your behalf for a government grant is worth a very careful look.

Apply for Australia-Germany H2Global Program on the official site

Applications close in September 2026. Government grant portals are busiest on the final day and several of them close on the stroke of the deadline, so the practical advice is to submit a day early.
