What the program funds

Australia and Naoero have a longstanding relationship underpinned by shared history and people-to-people links. The Nauru-Australia Treaty (the Treaty) was signed by the Australian Prime Minister and the President of the Republic of Naoero on 9 December 2024. The Treaty strengthens the bilateral relationship through an integrated economic, social and security partnership, supports Naoero’s resilience and prosperity, and recognises the sovereignty and security of both countries.
